The modern progressive playbook is to bully others into submission.  They are unapologetic and do it with a straight face. The mainstream media never challenges them; they simply get away with it.  It’s totalitarian. A few recent examples:

1-Airports such as San Antonio and Buffalo have denied Chick-fil-A the ability to open up a restaurant, citing “anti-LBTGQ behavior”. Government authorities don’t give any actual examples of such bad behavior, and state assemblyman Sean Ryan of Buffalo went on to say that they won’t do business with “corporations who fund hateful and divisive groups.” This comment is based on the company’s donations to pro-traditional marriage organizations.  Looking for tolerance and acceptance-that’s so 1999. The LBGTQ bullies will not allow anything but 100% celebration and normalization. They do not accept any other point of view. The truth is that they want to punish Chick-fil-A and claim that anyone who doesn’t color their corporate logo with the rainbow flag is evil. They love to talk about diversity and inclusion, and long as it is the right kind. If you believe marriage is between one man and one woman, that now equates to “hateful and divisive”. You are not allowed to hold the wrong opinion.  To me, it is the behavior of a tramarra-phobe: someone who is afraid of the virtues of traditional marriage.

2-The definition of “hate speech” has been so broadened, that any disagreement or criticism of LGBTQ community is considered “hate speech”.   Violate their rules and the militant Left will come after you. Consider Israel Folau, an Australian rugby player fired by his team for making a religious statement about sin, urging people to repent.  One of the several sins mentioned in his post was homosexuality. He sued his employer for workplace discrimination and set up a GoFundMe account to help with his legal fees. However, GoFundMe removed his account citing that they “do not tolerate the promotion of discrimination or exclusion”.  This is tech company tyranny and totalitarianism. Mr. Folau had a moral opinion on homosexual behavior, but a company discriminated against his religious view and excluded him from their platform. I guess the company missed the hypocrisy of their actions. They wanted to financially punish him and they succeeded.  GoFundMe’s actions show their belief that a corporation gets to decide who is good and who is not. They display obscene arrogance that they know best, so you better shut up and listen.

3-The crafting website Ravelry describes itself as an “inclusive, friendly website for people around the world”.  Their tweet from June 23 states that their website is banning support for Donald Trump and “cannot provide a space that is inclusive of all and also allow support for open white supremacy”.  I can’t make up the obvious hypocrisy about how they pat themselves on the back for being “inclusive”, yet demonize all Trump supporters. No other opinions allowed if you don’t fall in line with the now normal, radical Left agenda.  I doubt that Grandma visits the website to predominately talk about politics more than her latest crotchet project, but why is EVERYTHING politicized these days? Aren’t you getting tired of it already? Let your aunt Kathy quilt in peace.  It is just another tech company bully.

4-Even celebrities who support gay activism are being ostracized for not going far enough Left.  Lesbian and former tennis champion Martina Navratilova wrote an article where she stated, “that allowing transgender women to compete in women’s sporting events is insane and cheating.”  What she said was obvious and biologically true. It is no surprise that former “males” are winning competitions in women’s sports. But instead of debating the facts, her detractors simply labeled her as “trans phobic”.  That’s what you do what you don’t have a good argument, you just call people names. J.K. Rowling, who is reliably liberal, was chastised simply because she “liked” a tweet that criticized men in dresses. The Twitter mob was aghast that she wasn’t all-in on transgenderism and complained that she was “normalizing trans phobia”.  More name calling. But these two women are rich and famous, so they can easily defend themselves. That’s not so easy if you are a regular person. The Twitter mob likes to publicize personal information, like a home address, on people they don’t like, for the sole purpose of harassing the individual. What do you do when a mob shows up at your front door because you “like” the wrong social media comment?

We are at a point in society where it has become normal to censor opinion and punish those with whom they disagree.  If they are allowed to get away with it, more and more types of speech and opinions will be considered unacceptable. I can’t think of one tech company that isn’t its own precinct of the thought police.  They are getting more powerful and the list of what is “unacceptable” broadens daily. Our politicians don’t seem to care, so how soon will it be until your views are crushed?
