Princeton professor Robert George defines, “Ordinary authoritarians are content to forbid people from saying things they know or believe to be true.  Totalitarians insist on forcing people to say things they know or believe to be untrue.” Do you remember a time when gay people just wanted to be left alone, tolerated, accepted and not bullied?  Times have changed. The real bully in America is not in the white house but is the progressive Left and they carry a rainbow flag. They are not inclusive, they don’t tolerate different opinions and bully people into submission.  They are doing exactly what they complain about. Let’s look at three recent examples:

1-Actor Chris Pratt was bullied on Twitter by actress and gay activist Ellen Page for attending church services that did not meet her progressive standards.  Mr. Pratt didn’t say anything about the gay community, he simply attended church services.

She described the church as “infamously anti-LGBTQ”, but provided no example of what “anti-LGBTQ” means.  She doesn’t like that the church believes and preaches about traditional marriage. She doesn’t desire acceptance of her lifestyle, she demands celebration, and doesn’t tolerate dissent.  She later followed up with a tweet, “Being anti-LGBTQ is wrong, there aren’t two sides.” Let that sink in. There isn’t a worthy debate. You either agree with Ellen or you are just wrong. You are a bad person if you disagree. I believe the purpose of her social media comments isn’t to spark a debate, but pound into submission anyone who doesn’t want to celebrate her lifestyle.  There is no alternative point of view. Her view is morally correct and “there aren’t two sides”. Some gay activist have turned militant. I’m introducing a new term: tramarra-phobe. It is people who fear the virtues of traditional marriage.

2-In New York state, the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) has threatened to shut down a Christian adoption agency because its policy states that it, “prioritizes the placement of children for adoption in homes with a married mother and father”.  Gee, what a terrible situation for a kid. New Hope adoption agency has stated that it refers unmarried or same sex couples to other agencies. OCFS described the policy as “discriminatory and impermissible”. The two parties are in a lawsuit, with OCFS requiring the policy be changed or the closing of the adoption program.  Did you catch the OCFS view of prioritizing adoption in a traditional marriage home as “impermissible”? As in, not up for debate, discussion or a different point of view. Never mind that there are plenty of other adoption agencies to choose from. It isn’t simply an attack on the nuclear family, or being politically correct.  It is the government stating that a religious point of view isn’t legitimate. The government agency is stating that its point of view is not just the correct opinion, it’s the only opinion. And what do you do with organizations deemed to be illegitimate? Obviously, you try to shut them down. It goes beyond overreach and bureaucratic regulation, it’s tramarra-phobes in high gear.

3-Part of being a parent is deciding what is best for your child, and that can be as simple as what you make them for dinner, how much access you allow to the internet, video games or television.  You would think (and hope) that when it comes to the serious subject of medical decisions, it would default to the parent. The assumption is that the parent’s decision is in the best interest of the child, unless there is abuse or neglect.  Parental rights are constantly being eroded and the latest example comes out of Canada, where a 14 year old girl became gender confused and wanted to become a boy. This kid had a tough time coping with her parents divorce. The school counselors referred her to a doctor who recommended hormone therapy to begin the transition to a boy.  Given that the child had recently displayed behavioral issues, the parents wanted to hold off on any “treatment” and focus on helping the teenager deal with her problems. Sounds reasonable? Nope, the doctor wrote a letter to the parents citing a new law (BC Infants Act) that allows them to override the wishes of the parents, stating “the team agrees that the proposed course of treatment is in his best interest.  We appreciate that these conclusions differ from your own.” In other words, the opinion and wishes of the parents don’t matter. The parents filed a legal motion, but the court ruled against them and ordered testosterone injections, and also stated, “referring to the child as a girl or with female pronouns whether to him directly or to third parties shall be considered to be family violence”. One slip of the wrong pronoun and that child will be taken out of the home and the parents branded as violent child abusers.  Is Joseph Stalin running Canada? It’s an entirely different debate on whether minors should be allowed, let alone encouraged, to have life altering and irreversible gender hormone drugs or surgery. In this case, the doctor and the government made the decision. You wonder why they even bothered to consult the parents. I’m surprised they didn’t require the parents to throw a gender transition party catered from Denver’s Masterpiece Cakeshop.

Are we no longer allowed to say what’s true without fear of repercussions?  Or worse yet, is it required to nod our heads in agreement with falsehoods. Be afraid; be very afraid.
