Winter Park Resort has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Torchlight parade and fireworks. A favorite Christmas Eve tradition for thousands of guests and locals alike, resort officials were unable to find a safe way to host this year’s event.
“We couldn’t find a good solution that didn’t involve or encourage people gathering, and we can’t have gatherings this year,” said Winter Park Resort Public Relations and Communications Manager Jen Miller. “We’re just as disappointed as anyone, but we’re looking towards next year.”
Miller explained, “To create a festive atmosphere in the base area, however, we’ve put in several vintage looking postcard photo booths, so people can create small, private holiday moments.”
The Resort’s Village and base have also been decked out in holiday splendor, allowing visitors to experience the magic of the season at their own pace.
