Winter Door Decorating Contest

The Winter Park & Fraser Chamber is hosting a Winter Door Decorating Contest and invites local businesses to “Get in the spirit of snow by getting creative with your business’s door!” using the new community brand and/or one of the brand pillars.

The theme is “Let it Snow!” and doors must be decorated by November 30 in time to be judged during the following week’s Orientation Express. Categories include Best Overall, Most Creative and Most On Brand. Winners will be announced on December 10th and will receive an Elevation Pizza party.

Shining Stars annual Toy Drive

Help make the holidays shine a little brighter for children, and their families, facing cancer or another life threatening illness. From now through December 12, the Shining Stars Foundation is collecting donations of gift cards, books (fiction and non-fiction), action figures, art supplies, craft sets, sports equipment, remote-controlled cars, games, DVDs, building sets/Legos, Barbies, dolls, and video games. They cannot accept used toys and donors are asked not to wrap the toys.

Donations are accepted at the Angel Tree in Cooper Creek Square, Bank of the West (Fraser), Black Pine Tattoo, Citywide Bank, East Grand Middle School, Elevate Pilates, Mad Tatters, Middle Park High School, Shining Stars Administrative Office and World’s End Brew Pub.

2020 Health Insurance Open Enrollment continues

November 1, 2019 – January 15, 2020 is the open enrollment period for Colorado’s Health Care Exchange: Connect for Colorado.

Even if you have NO changes, you still need to renew your plan for 2020. Here are a few things you can do right now to make open enrollment easier:

  1. Create or update your Connect for Health Colorado account: Online, at www.healthcare.gov or www.connectforhealthco.com, or, by phone, at: (855) 752-6749.
  2. If prompted, update your password.
  3. Make sure your current contact information and mailing address is up-to-date.

Grand County seeks interested Medical Director candidates

After twenty years as Grand County Emergency Medical Services’ Medical Director, John Nichols MD is leaving his volunteer position mid-January 2020. The Board of County Commissioners has begun a search for physicians interested in pursuing the roles of Medical Director and/or Assistant Medical Director at EMS and Public Health. Ikon Pass mobile app released

The new Ikon Pass mobile app is available now in app stores, expanding on-mountain experience for skiers and riders at 41 global Ikon Pass destinations.

“As we enter the second season of the Ikon Pass, we are excited to offer Ikon Pass holders an app to enhance their experience on the mountain as they visit any of our 41 destinations around the globe,” said Erik Forsell, Chief Marketing Officer, Alterra Mountain Company. “The app is a new outlet for the Ikon Pass community to engage with our destinations and other pass holders.”

The Ikon Pass app offers several active functions such as track on-mountain stats, view leaderboards, find your location on destination trail maps, create friend groups and more. 

The new Ikon Pass app is free and available for download in the Apple store and the Google Play Store and will function at all Ikon pass destinations around the globe.
