We miss you! We are planning to run the summer day camp at the normal start date of June 8th. We want to thank for your patience as we reworked the plans to make this happen. Camp will run through Thursday, August 13. Summer day camp registration will start Thursday, May 21 for students of East Grand School District then all other FVMRD district families will be able to register on Monday, May 25th. Registration will be offered three ways: online, through email, or over the phone. We will be requiring a deposit and completion of camp paperwork to secure a spot. The deposit will be 10% of your child(s) camp registration. However, we do not want this to be a financial hardship. If you cannot make the 10% payment, please call and a different arrangement will be made.

Given the rapidly changing environment and the new licensed childcare rules and policies we are currently dealing with (e.g.-consistent groups of 10 kids per counselor) along with the Fraser Elementary School being closed due to a safety construction project for the summer, we are being faced with changes to our operation. The changes include:

We will not be offering “drop-in” childcare. Registration days need to be consistent throughout the entire summer. We will only be able to allow children that are a permanent resident or recreation district families that plan to spend an extended amount of time in the county (6 weeks or more). We will operate day camp Monday through Thursday, each week, from 8:30AM5:30PM. There will be no Friday day camp this summer. Curbside drops off and pick up will be required and enforced through designated drop off/ pick up times only.

Day camp registration is in two sessions this summer. Session #1 is June 8th-July 2nd and session #2 is July 6th- August 13th. Each child will be offered up to a 2-week grace the entire summer, to allow for vacations, family visits, ect. that you will not be charged for. However, after the two weeks, we will not be able to refund for any other individual days missed, even with advance notice. We will still not be charging for sick days. We cannot have anyone at camp that has ANY symptoms of illness. Your child needs to be fever-free for 72 hours before returning to camp and a fever at camp could cause everyone to be sent home for a full 24 hours! Please, keep the illness at home and help us stop the spread.

Registration days are required to be the same in each session. This means that you will register your child for the same days in a four-week and six-week time frame. Registration days will be Monday-Thursday, Tuesday/Thursday or Monday/Wednesday. If those days do not work at all for your family, we might be able to consider different consistent days and an email or phone call is required to complete that registration. We are unable to accommodate a one day per week registration. Registration will not be confirmed until camp paperwork is completed on ePACT. Once registration is confirmed an email will be sent with a more detailed daily schedule and the drop off location with the group number.

Field trips are planned for every Wednesday and some Mondays but they have been cancelled for the month of June. We will try to do as many in July and August as possible. Swimming and gymnastics at the recreation center, at this time, has also been cancelled. We will send an updated schedule by June 19th for session #2 that covers the remaining 6 weeks of camp. We will not be offering a mini-camp week due to the school construction project to give us time to get the classroom ready for the 2020/2021 school year including FVE Testing days. We have been working hard to plan alternate activities in place of field trips, high contact activities, and playground time.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding while we navigate this new normal. We have been working with county public health and Colorado Department of Human Services Childcare division to make this happen. Feel free to call the number above or send an email with any questions, concerns, or for more information. We are so excited to see the kids this summer!
