Granby Ranch is opening today with limited terrain but looking to expand that offering soon. With night time temperatures dipping into the teens and single digits, the snowmaking crew has been blowing and going to get ready for opening day..
Mother nature has hampered early season snowmaking efforts with unusually warm overnight temperatures through much of November. “The snowmaking crew has been working hard the last couple of weeks getting the slopes ready for opening day” said Jamie Wolter, Director of Mountain Ops. “The Milestone Lift and learning area at the base of the mountain are ready to go.” The mountain crew is hoping to get the top of the mountain open in the next 5 to 7 days.
Granby Ranch CEO Melissa Cipriani said, “We are looking forward to a new season with new events and fun things in and around the mountain” she added, “Mother Nature has made it challenging but we have a great mountain crew and they will open as much as they can before the holiday skiers arrive next weekend.”
Granby Ranch has a new executive chef this season running the back of the house for all four Food and Beverage operations. Kelsey Guymon will continue in the Granby Ranch Grill tradition of open fire pizzas and calzones and mouth watering burgers. According to Cipriani, “Guymon will provide a few surprises from time to time.”
The 8350 Lounge has a new Apres Menu of Craft Cocktails, spirits and food selections. This hidden gem is tucked away on the third floor and worth a happy hour beverage hunt on Thursdays when they host live music and specials. The Grill will offer live music on the weekends.
