The Town of Winter Park announced their new Town Manager on August 9th. Keith Riesberg was officially appointed during the Town Council meeting on Tuesday evening and will begin the new role in October 2018.

Riesberg has over 22 years of experience in local government, working as a city manager or administrator for 17 of those years. Since 2013 he served as the City Manager of Rio Rancho, NM, a municipality of about 94,000 residents. During his tenure in Rio Rancho, the area made great strides in economic development and public infrastructure improvements.

“My fellow council members and I are extremely excited to welcome Mr. Riesberg to the organization,” said Mayor Jimmy Lahrman. “We were very impressed with him throughout this hiring process and believe that he will be a valuable asset to continue the Town’s current momentum.”

After accepting the position, Riesberg commented, “Working for the resort community of Winter Park is a rare and unique opportunity for me and my family. I look forward to working with Mayor Lahrman, the Town Council and staff to continue the initiatives currently underway that will provide outstanding services to the residents, businesses and visitors to this wonderful community. My family is excited to become part of Winter Park’s community and embracing its character and culture.”

The Winter Park Town Council selected the new Town Manager through a thoughtful and diligent hiring process. After thorough interviews that included interaction with Town staff and community members, it was clear that Riesberg’s experience and energy aligned best with the Town of Winter Park and the community.
