Friday, August 11

The 20th Annual Winter Park Craft Fair runs noon-6 pm Friday, 9 am- 6 pm Saturday, and 9 am-5 pm Sunday in the Kings Crossing Center area. Local Lions Club pancake breakfasts available Saturday and Sunday.

Winter Park Resort presents its Friday Music Series 4-6 pm in The Village with live music. The Friday shows are followed by Coca-Cola Family Movie Nights on the lawn, with “The Good Dinosaur” August 11th. Both events are free and feature a different band and movie every Friday through Aug. 25th.

Cooper Creek Square in Winter Park presents its Music on the Square live music series 6-8 pm in the courtyard. Enjoy Okie-born singer / songwriter Carter Sampson Aug. 11, Red Dirt Hill Aug. 18, Emily & Retta Yarbrough Aug. 25, and Woodshed Red Sept. 1. The 101st Middle Park Fair and Rodeo takes place through Aug. 13 at the Kremmling Fairgrounds. Friday features Ranch Horse Versatility (9 am), Jr. livestock sale, Round Robin (10 am), llama / alpaca show, dinner (5 pm; $10), music, scholarship presentation (6:30 pm), and community dance (9 pm).


Saturday, August 12

The 7th Annual Hike for Spencer starts at 8 am at the base of Mary Jane.  The money raised for this event goes to fund Winter Park Competition Center program fees and travel expenditures for youths who would otherwise be unable to participate.

The 20th Annual Winter Park Craft Fair takes place through Aug. 13 in the wooded space just south of Kings Crossing in Winter Park, with Lions Club pancake breakfasts both mornings. 9 am- 6 pm Saturday, and 9 am-5 pm Sunday.

The Winter Park Chamber of Commerce presents the 7th Annual SolShine Music Festival at Hideaway Park in Winter Park, with music provided by Gipsy Moon 4-5 pm, New Orleans Suspects 5:30-6:30 pm, and returning headliner Leftover Salmon 7-10 pm. FREE!

The Winter Park Pub presents live music with high-energy string band Sweet Lillies (Americana and bluegrass) 1-3 pm, no cover, and, the New Orleans Suspects at 10:30 pm. $5 cover.

Ullrs Tavern in Winter Park presents live music (fusing jazz, Americana, free improvisation, rock and soul) with band Sockeye (featuring Leftover Salmon members Greg Garrison on bass, Erik Deutsch on keys, and Alwyn Robinson on drums). Show starts at 10 pm.

The Crooked Creek Saloon in Fraser presents live music with former local singer / songwriter Eric “Oly” Olson performing rock and Americana originals and covers, starting at 7 pm. No cover.

The Spirit of the Lake Regatta splashes into Grand Lake as a zero-waste solar event and fundraiser for Colorado Headwaters Conservation. The event includes kids races, Kidz Zone, environment craft fair, Dragon Boat Challenge (teams sought), Brews and Crews, and solar-powered live music with Hunker Down & Friends. Sunday, August 13

Fitness in the Park features a FREE pilates class with Paige Walker at Cooper Creek Square in downtown Winter Park at 9am.

The 20th Annual Winter Park Craft Fair wraps up 9 am-5 pm in the wooded space just south of Kings Crossing in Winter Park, also with Lions Club pancake breakfast.

Ullrs Tavern presents Kill the Keg featuring beer specials and live music or DJs starting around 9 pm.

The Winter Park Pub presents live music by Gipsy Moon & Sweet Lilies at 1 pm.

The Basement in Winter Park hosts Karaoke around 8 pm.

YMCA/Snow Mountain Ranch hosts a FREE locals day! Grand County residents receive a free day pass, with proof of residency. You’ll also be able to sign up for a free summer tubing hill session! Check in at the Programs Building to receive your free day pass and to register for a free summer tubing hill session. The FREE Day Pass give access to miles of hiking and biking trails, fishing (rentals available, or, bring your own), pool, mini golf, roller skating, basketball, volleyball, disc golf, family programs and more! NOTE: You must register for the tubing hill session in person at the Programs Desk, and, space is limited.

Fraser Picnic in the Park runs every Tuesday through Aug. 29th. The lineup features local ACME Band (rock, dance tribute band) Aug. 15, Tight Like That Aug. 22, and Tone and the Vibe Aug. 29. Shows are 6-8 pm at the Old School House Park near the Fraser Town Hall and are free.

Winter Park Resort hosts free Campfire Sing-a-longs 4-6 pm in The Village gazebo Wednesdays through Aug. 23.

Local musicians Brian Wiedl and Kenny Sciuto perform 6-9 pm at Leo’s Kitchen upstairs at Cooper Creek Square in Winter Park.

Idlewild Spirits (under Rudi’s Deli in Winter Park) presents weekly pick-up game nights (5-10 pm). Games on hand. People are also encouraged to bring games they might have.

The Basement in Winter Park hosts Open Mic Nights and an open art session.

The Winter Park / Fraser Chamber of Commerce presents its High Note Thursday free summer concert series 4-6 pm through Aug. 24 on the new permanent stage at Hideaway Park in Winter Park with local singer / songwriter Rob Drabkin.

Local musicians Kevin, Brian and Mike Wiedl, and Kenny Sciuto perform live 8-10 p.m. at The Peak in Winter Park.

Dust off ‘yer boots and join us Thursday, August 17th for Bulls, Boots & BBQ at B Lazy 2 in Fraser! Event proceeds benefit Grand County Rural Health’s programs and services supporting the health and access to healthcare for our mountain community. The Grand Foundation needs volunteers for summer events (which help fund local charities): Aug. 5 for the WP Beer Festival, Aug. 12 for the KBCO SolShine Music Festival, Aug. 19 for WP Uncorked, and Aug. 26 for the WP Music Festival. They need to secure 30 volunteers each day to staff the beer and liquor booths with bartenders, crowd vendors, stockers, and cashiers. Contact Megan Ledin at 970.887.3111 ext.3, 970.531.0519.
