The new stage at Hideaway Park proved to be a sweet spot last weekend for Jazz Lovers that made it out for the two day festival.  Saturday’s sold out show featured Nick Colionne’s measured jazz guitar riffs followed by and Rick Braun and Richard Elliot teaming up to blow sax and trumpet melodies from several grammy award winning albums.  The highlight of the weekend was definitely Charlie Wilson and his big band featuring dancing showgirl, stunning outfits, interesting routines and complete costume changes.  Wilson has eleven Grammy nominations and puts on a great show.

Sundays was filled with an intriguing lineup which was highlighted by Brian Culbertson’s high energy set that proved to be a crowd favorite despite the pouring rain.  The final act was greeted by a cool colorado breeze for the hearty followers of Marsha Ambrosius & Eric Benét. Both vocalists hit notes that were purely angelic works of art and beauty.
