Friday, November 24

Grand Lake hosts its official Christmas tree lighting party 5-6 pm with complimentary hot chocolate, Santa, music performance, and sing-along at the town park and Pancho & Lefty’s. Kids are encouraged to donate an ornament to be used to brighten the holidays year after year.

Hangout with Karen Vance, Studio  8369, on the Boardwalk in Grand Lake.  A New Fine Art Gallery. 10am-6pm.  Open House.

The Winter Park Pub hosts live music starting at 6 pm. Usually no cover.

The Crooked Creek Saloon in Fraser presents live music with master keyboard player Bill McKay and Channing Lynn (from Sassafras) starting at 8 pm. No cover.

Ullrs Tavern in Winter Park host a Throwback Dance Party to benefit local radio station KFFR 88.3 FM. Starts at 7 pm. $10 at the door.

Saturday, November 25

Charlie’s Frozen Treat Shop at the Viking Lodge & Ski Shop hosts a Holiday Open House from 2-5 pm. Learn how to jazz up your holidays with amazing desserts.

Devil’s Thumb Ranch hosts their Ranch Holiday Lights Ceremony from 3-5 pm on Heck’s Patio. Complimentary hot cocoa and cookies, and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Then, from 5-7 pm, Zach’s Mercantile hosts an Open House to introduce new retail lines and a Holiday Prosecco Bar.

The Village at Winter Park Resort hosts a Holiday Market (12 – 5 pm), and, its 8th Annual Tree Lighting ceremony, featuring Dickens carolers (3:30 pm), Santa in the gazebo (3:30 pm), tree lighting (5:15 pm) and festivities.

Ski Broker hosts a Ski Season Kick-off Party at Hideaway Park, Winter Park. Celebrate the start of the season with 3 new movies from Matchbox Productions, Teton Gravity Research and Never Summer, plus giveaways, beer and food. Proceeds benefit The Grand Foundation. The festivities get going at 5 pm.

Monday, November 27

Learn about community businesses on the Orientation Express 9 am-5 pm Nov. 27-Dec. 1. Each night participants visit 10 different businesses in different areas of the Fraser Valley and sample their products. Free prizes and samples. Info.: (970) 283-3550.

Tuesday, November 28

Pepe Osaka’s Fishtaco hosts Salsa Night with a Donation Class (when you buy a margarita or a beer) from 8 – 10 pm.

Host musician Brian Garcia and Pancho & Lefty’s in Grand Lake regularly present Open Mic / Karaoke starting around 6 pm.

The Crooked Creek Saloon in Fraser hosts Trivia Nights at 7:30 pm. Teams of six, or join in on another team.

Ullrs Tavern in Winter Park presents Lip Sync Nights starting at 9 pm.

The Basement in Winter Park presents Flip Nights every Tuesday featuring local DJ duo MONIX (9 pm) and chances to win a free round.

Wednesday, November 29

The Fraser Valley Creative Writers group usually meets 10:05-11:35 am at the Fraser Valley Library. (Pam Cornett leads the group. Info: (303) 548-4031).

The Peak hosts a Money 101 Lunch and Learn from 12 – 1 pm. Lunch is included for those who RSVP.

Idlewild Spirits (under Rudi’s Deli in Winter Park) presents weekly pick-up game nights (5-10 pm). Games on hand. People are also encouraged to bring games they might have.

Thursday, November 30

The Orientation Express takes its final fall 2017 run 9 am-5 pm Dec. 1. Participants visit 10 different businesses in different areas of the Fraser Valley and sample their products. The Crooked Creek Saloon in Fraser and guest host musicians (to include Mike Utley, Cody Porche and Jed Henry) present Open Mic Night, starting at 9:30 pm. Artists of all kinds are encouraged to sign up. Acoustic guitar may be on hand to play or for backup.

The 14th annual Lions Festival of Trees at Grand Park Community Center from 4-8 pm.

A non-profit, 12-step, Bible-based recovery program “helping resolve life’s hurts” meets at 6 pm every Friday at 257 W. Topaz, behind Granby Elementary.
