CDOT, in cooperation with Structures, Inc., will resume construction on the bridge replacement project on US 34 South of Grand Lake at mile post (MP) 12.1. Construction will begin on Monday, May 4.
Travelers will be diverted to a temporary bridge so the flow of traffic can continue, and allow work to resume on the new mainline bridge. There will be intermittent lane closures and flagging operations daily beginning May 4th.
The US 34 Bridge Replacement project began in April 2019, with crews constructing a temporary bridge for traffic and working to install the new bridge. Structures will continue to work on the bridge replacement, then move to asphalt paving, and detour removal and restoration. The project is expected to be completed by the end of July 2020.
TRAVEL IMPACTS
Work will take place Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Traffic will be routed onto the temporary two-lane bridge with some single lane traffic control. Speeds will be reduced in the construction zone to 25 mph during the project.
