On Friday night, July 12th, millions of people across the globe will take part in a candlelight vigil to stand in solidarity with detained migrants and refugees and protest the suffering of children, families and all human beings in US custody.

A local vigil has been organized in the Fraser Valley at 8:45 p.m. on the lawn at Cozens Ranch Museum, 77849 US 40 in Fraser. Candles will be provided, and, after just a few words of welcome, we’ll form the shape of a heart and hold vigil in silence to call attention and show that America stands with the human beings imprisoned for crossing borders in search of safety and a better life.

Bring a child, a friend, a neighbor. Help amplify our efforts with your presence. This is where showing up matters. It’s 30 minutes of your Friday to be part of a light of compassion that will literally be seen from space.

Lights for Liberty was created by a loose coalition of grassroots activists, with support from long-standing immigrants’ rights organizations and other organizers. More information can be found at lightsforliberty.org.
