This Sunday, the Fraser Valley Metropolitan Recreation District will host its first annual Wellness Fair. The inaugural event will feature about thirty providers from a diverse array of specialties including chiropractic, fitness, massage, nutrition, physical therapy, pilates, counseling and yoga. There will also be several representatives from various county services on-hand to discuss programs and connect attendees with resources.

Guest services supervisor, Robin Dresen, told the Winter Park Times, “this is an event I have been wanting to organize since the rec center opened”. In a locale where there are so many outdoor enthusiasts interested in maintaining healthy lifestyles, it is only natural that the number of wellness options has increased to meet the needs of our growing community. The FVMRD Wellness Fair brings these providers together in a casual setting to share their expertise in promoting health and wellness.

Attendees will be treated to demonstrations and samples, and will have the opportunity to meet the providers one-on-one. Some vendors will also have wellness products available for purchase.

“I hope this is the first of many to come and that new ideas come from it as well”, said Dresen.

The 1st annual FVMRD Wellness Fair takes place on Sunday, December 9th, from 10 am – 2 pm in the Grand Park Community Recreation Center gymnasium. The Wellness Fair is free and open to the public. For information, visit: fraservalleyrec.org.
