The CR8 Bridge officially opened on Friday, October 18th, 2019 on budget and ahead of schedule thanks to Duckels Construction out of Steamboat Springs. Community members, the construction team and government officials held a ribbon cutting on October 16th to celebrate the latest cooperative construction project. The CR8 bridge project cost $1.2 million and the planning team raised close to $900k in grant funds to carry the majority of the costs. Fraser Mayor, Philip Vandernail spoke at the ribbon cutting thanking everyone involved saying “I want to also thank the Grand County Commissioners for once again partnering with Fraser on a significant road project.” The county and town of Fraser split the remaining balance 60-40 respectively to fund this critical infrastructure component. Vandernail added, “It’s moments like these that make serving as Mayor of Fraser very meaningful.”
