There are a number of local artist’s events happening around the valley right now. You won’t have to travel far to see the works of a talented cadre of local artists.

TJ Daring’s acrylic art exhibit is made up of 12 works which feature colorful impressions of mountains, trees and a lot of skies. “It’s very colorful,” says TJ. The exhibit opened in the Fraser Valley Library Community Room on July 18th and runs through August 28th. The library opens Tuesday – Saturday at 10 am.

Millar Kelley’s ‘Works on Wood’ opens Friday, August 2nd, at Cozens Ranch Museum in Fraser with an opening reception from 4 – 7 pm. The exhibit will run through August 30th, and is open Thursday – Sunday, from 10 am – 4 pm.

The Winter Park Arts District hosts First Friday on August 2, from 5 – 8 pm. A variety of local art and handmade crafts will be featured at the event.

Grand Lake’s Arts & Crafts Fair takes place in Town Park on Saturday, August 3 from 10 am – 4 pm.

Fraser Valley Distilling hosts an ‘Artful Afternoon’ in their Barrel Room on Sunday, August 4th from 12:30 – 5 pm. Artists exhibiting their works this weekend include TJ Daring, Jules Looney, Randi Pepper and Callie Rae.

Elizabeth Kurtak invites everyone to celebrate summer at her ‘Picked Summer Art Show’ on Wednesday night, August 7th, from 6-10 pm. Located in the Historic Fraser Mercantile Building through the Garden Gate, behind Fraser Thrift, the Elizabeth Kurtak Art Gallery event features fresh Kurtak art, banjo stylings of Joe Swatzki, wine, refreshments, and glorious gardens. Casual to cocktail attire (please, leave pets at home).

The 19 murals created at last week’s Fraser Mountain Mural Festival will remain on display at the future site of the Fraser Center for Creative Arts until they are auctioned off at Fraser Valley Distilling over Labor Day weekend.
