This Saturday, July 6th, the Rendezvous Event Center in downtown Winter Park will play host to perennial favorite, the Tequila & Tacos Festival, and this year’s event is sure to please those with a flair for flavors south of the border! 

Winter Park & Fraser Chamber Executive Director, Catherine Ross, said, “Tequila and Tacos is a great event with food, drink and spicy summer fun. Besides the tequila tasting tickets, a general admission ticket is available to enjoy El Javi, a master flamenco guitarist performing from 1-2 pm, along with Soul Sacrifice, a Santana Tribute Band on stage from 2:30-5 pm.”

Tequilas from Herradura, Suerte, Don Julio, Cenote, Milagro, Se Busca Mezcal, Maestro Dobel, Kimo Sabe Mezcal, El Mayor, Mi Campo and Casa Noble will be featured at this year’s event. Herradura also hosts “Tequila Talk” at 2 pm. 

Food vendors include Casa Mexico, Pepe Osaka’s Fishtaco, Fireside Market & Eatery, The Spot Grill and Strip & Tail. The Kona Ice truck will also be there to help cleanse your palate between samples. You can also pick up something special from Altitude Jewelry, Tashi & Lhakpa’s handmade jewelry from Nepal, Love My Shawl, Sogno Toscano Tuscan Dream and Kompass Apparel as you make your way through the sampling.

Gates open at 12:45 pm for those that purchase tickets in advance. Day of ticket purchasers will be allowed to enter at 1:45 pm. All ticket holders enjoy tequila samples from 1-5 pm and receive a commemorative tequila shooter or shot glass. General admission tickets include 3 taco sample tickets and the GA PLUS tickets include 10 taco sample food tasting tickets. The best buy is the VIP PLUS ticket at $55. VIP PLUS ticket holders will get special tastings with the tequila suppliers from 1-3 pm, 10 taco tasting tickets and a free lunch in the VIP area, with snacks from 1-4 pm. Proceeds from the event benefit the G.A.P. Fund for Youth. The G.A.P. (Grand Activities & Programs) Fund was established to provide financial assistance with participation fees for non academic activities to full time resident Grand County youth between the ages of birth and 18 years of age.
