The Park Plaza Shopping Center is a downtown mainstay in Winter Park’s retail market. Anchored by longtime favorites, Rudi’s Deli to the north, and, The Salon at Winter Park to the south, it’s promising to see several vacant storefronts come back to life.

De Antonio’s changes hands

In late spring, Patrick Barker and Uriel Ayon took over operations at De Antonio’s Pizza. The duo acquired the store from Frank Donnadio, who moved out of the county. The two have maintained many of the old favorites that make a visit to De Antonio’s a terrific dining option. (970) 726-9999

Rollin’ Street Bakery serves up tasty Chimney Cakes and Cones

Nestled between De Antonio’s and Ski Depot, the Rollin’ Street Bakery opened in June. The family-owned business brings recipes straight from the streets of Prague.

Their specialty, the Chimney Cake and Cone, are baked fresh each day. They offer a sweet and a savory option, with a number of delicious fillings to complete the serving. Another favorite is their sourdough bread, also baked fresh daily. Visit rollinbakery.com for more information.

New Verizon Wireless Store opens

At the northern end, next to Rudi’s, High Country Cellular and Electronics has just opened their first satellite location. With a primary location in Granby, the new store expands the level of services available to the community.

The store is managed by Clancy King, a South Dakota native, who has been working at the Granby location for several years. King and his team are excited to open this second location, a complete Verizon Wireless store. They are able to provide new services, upgrades, the latest devices and short-term service plans for seasonal staff. To learn more, visit: hccellularelectronics.com.

As more retail space comes online in Winter Park and Fraser, it is exciting to see what other new ventures will be coming our way in the not too distant future.
